Social Service & Volunteer
Social service in our style
Here in Thailand, there are a lot of devout Buddhists. They have given offering and donated from their childhood to practice charity since they believe in Metempsychosis, repeating their lives after death, and pray for happiness in their afterlife. However, in the mean time, it is reality that these pious believers have been affected by modernization and industrialization more or less.
It can’t be denied that we do our business for the commercial purpose every day. On the other hand, we realize there is another way to contribute to society and enhance our motivation. That is why we started our voluntary activities.
No one can live alone. People fundamentally wish to be involved in their community. We believe this feeling is not only in Japan, but throughout the world including Thailand. Therefore social service, being involved in society affirmatively, offers great opportunities for our staff to increase their motivation.
Doing business is seeking profit under the tough circumstances. People sometimes get antsy and lose the meaning of their existence. We think this may be ‘leading your life’ itself. Meanwhile, if we take great pleasure in contributing to society through voluntary activities, we are able to avoid from feeling isolated and alienated.
Nevertheless, we can’t be kind to others if we aren’t happy and affordable. Thus we have to succeed in our business first. We believe we will achieve our goal to be gentle to others and helpful to society after that. We are going to do our voluntary activities holding such belief.
Supporting UNHCR (The UN refugee agency regional office in Thailand)
-
UNHCR ( The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees ) is an United nations program to protect and support refugee. The regional office in Thailand has been supporting refugees from Myanmar. Currently there are more than one hundred thousand refugees who are living in the area of border and are forced to lead harsh lives in their camp. Many people are suffering because they can’t have enough food. Children can’t receive adequate education there.

We are sponsoring and offering foods and clothes through UNHCR.
Supporting a primary school in Nakhon Ratchasima Province
We had hoped to start something even if it may be only small things when we came across bahanwhitenamkem primary school in Nakhon Ratchasima province by chance. At the beginning we thought about various things to make students happy since we had never done such activities. Now teachers of the school get to give us answers for it.
In 2014, we donate personal computers, stuffed toys, stationeries, water bottles and so on. In addition, we gave scholarships to able students. When we knew they needed a library, we built it. Now it offers a good opportunity for students emotional development.
In 2015, we knew that there wasn’t good plumbing in the schoolyard and installed it soon in order for students to wash hands and have a drink of water. When we visited to see them, we were welcomed and could see their traditional dance they practiced hard.
This year, we are going to build a hall where students gather while it rains. Students of the shool were very small when we met them for the first time. To see them growing and the school being well-equipped is enjoyable and fulfilling for us.
We believe this kind of activity should not finish just after giving money once. In order to be always together in spirit, we are going to support them from behind the scenes. We also dream some of the students join our company as staff someday.
Baan Phayathai orphanage visiting
We accidentally knew the existence of Baan Phayathai orphanage located in the outskirts of Bangkok.
More than 400 children who were abandoned by their parents just after giving birth are living there. We are really surprised to see the reality that as many as parents desert their babies just to avoid the hardships of poverty.
The Baan Phayathai orphanage is supporting these children and providing a living place on them. However the number of babies who are accommodated is increasing day by day. As we know their role as safety net, we are visiting there with sweets, milk, yogurt and so on. To buy them for 400 children is not something so simple though.
It’s only one hour and half drive from our office to the home of children. Then we are visiting there as often as possible holding a lot of sweets.
